It’s that time of year when you’re starting to think about your next holiday!
Maybe you’ve already booked your flights and are beginning to plan your vacation wardrobe?
Bikinis, sandals and kaftans are probably already making your way into your suitcase, but have you thought about your skincare routine?
Flying and sunbathing are two factors that cause dryness and skin damage. Even when you’re having fun in the sun, its important to keep your skincare routine in harmony.
Let’s take a look at your must have travel beauty skincare guide!
The air on a plane is around 20% humidity, meaning your skin becomes dry quickly. If you struggle with dry, dehydrated skin or have sensitive skin issues, such as rosacea or irritation, plane air can cause havoc to your complexion.
The one thing your skin desperately needs is hydration. Using an effective moisturiser will soothe and restore your skin, putting much-needed moisture back.
Live Skincare Day & Night Moisturiser contains hyaluronic acid – an ingredient which holds 1000 times its weight in water to intensely hydrate your skin. Our super moisturiser also contains green tea extract to fight sun damage and wrinkles.
Using in-flight skincare will keep your complexion happy while travelling. Remember, you’ll need to use travel bottles of no more than 100ml if you’re taking your skincare on a plane.
Sun protection is an essential when travelling to a hot climate. Even if the weather seems overcast, using SPF is a must as your skin is still susceptible to damage.
Sun exposure causes accelerated signs of ageing, including fine lines and wrinkles, as well as an increased risk of sun damage. Ensure you use a SPF daily and top up during the day, especially if you’re going swimming.
Using a hydrating lip balm or soothing balm on areas which are extremely dry, such as your elbows, knees and feet, will prevent them from becoming even dryer.
Our top tip – use a thick moisturising balm on your feet and cover them with socks during the night for an intense burst of hydration.
You could also use a balm on your nose, or anywhere that may start peeling due to sun exposure.
Gently cleanse your skin in the morning and evening. This will eliminate traces of dirt, grime and sun lotion.
You can use makeup wipes for in-flight use, but remember to choose a gentle formulation. Those that are alcohol free are ideal as these won’t dry your skin out.
If you need to use makeup to cover imperfections, try on the spot concealing rather than a full on base. This will allow your skin to breathe in hot weather.
Alternatively, you can use a foundation and mix it with your moisturiser to provide a light base which will even out your skin tone and hide any imperfections which may dent your confidence.
